Visuals should be handled by the humans who can see, understand, and interpret the value of an idea. That’s what I do—and what I can help you with.
I’m a self-taught visual designer who doesn’t want to stick to the labels of “graphic designer” or “illustrator”. I want to move where the idea takes me.
I see creating as problem-solving. This skill I learned by living life and strengthened it by getting a Bachelor in engineering. I believe that a strong set of visuals help people instantly connect with a brand or message—and I want to make that happen. I’ve collaborated with local businesses and global brands alike, and I’m always on the lookout to create work that builds a real connection between brands I believe in and the people they serve.
I’ve been fully active in the industry for 10 years, and working independently for the last 6. Most of that time, I’ve been based in Puerto Rico—though I spent about a year in New York City. New York is that one place in the world where cultures mix and meld together—I knew that energy could spark some of the most interesting ideas.
Though my time over there ended abruptly, my interest in creating and connecting never ended. Thanks to Discord, I now talk to people from all over the world. And yeah, we play games and have fun whenever possible, but we're a group of creatives always ideating and creating together, always keeping the brain juices flowing.
All that said, I'm always paying attention to the presence of the AI landscape and how it affects visuals and communication between individuals. Artists and designers alike should use AI: either as a tool to help them with the other tasks not directly involved with creative process, or to understand its capabilities. Personally speaking, I think AI will (or should) never be able to perfectly replicate the nuances of the result of the creative process. While it can produce a "first glance pretty image", it only has a lasting power of a couple of seconds at best. Us creatives should strive to create lasting impressions on people. Look at the Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and Nike logos for instance. Timeless design created by humans will always outrun the trends of the moment.
Human creators are here to stay.
