Soul Masters is a new trading card game born from the creator’s desire to rethink how traditional TCGs are played. The goal was to blend the aspects of existing card games that he enjoyed the most with the strategic elements and depth of miniature-based tabletop games—while keeping the cost of entry accessible to all players.
My goal was to unify the fragmented visual elements of Soul Masters TCG into a cohesive brand system—elevating its presence to better compete with established trading card game brands.

The current design doesn’t hold up against major competitors like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, or even niche titles like Force of Will. It also falls short when compared to digital card games such as Hearthstone, Gwent, or Legends of Runeterra.
These two proposed creative directions aim to unlock the game’s full potential and position it more competitively within the market.

Several redesign directions were explored and presented. However, the client ultimately chose to retain the original identity due to prior investments in existing assets. With a clear difference in vision, I decided not to pursue a contract renewal, understanding that continued collaboration without alignment wouldn’t serve either party effectively.
